An institution in itself... the Es Saadi has been favoured by many for its reliable service and lovely gardens. Most definitely on the top of our list as far as city hotels in Marrakech go.
One of the city’s best bigger hotels, Es Saadi is a genuine ‘old-school’ Marrakech classic, and a Moroccan institution in itself. Located just ten minutes from all the main action - the colourful, furious souk markets and the focal square - it also scores highly on every report card for its 20 acres of botanical gardens, an extensive amenities list and, having been in the same family hands for over forty years, its quality service. A 1960s building, the hotel was renovated in the early 90s but is beautifully maintained and now has a new (more expensive) sister property, Es Saadi Palace, next door.
Every one of the 150 rooms is generously sized, air-conditioned and comfortable. They all boast in-room Wi-Fi and satellite TVs, too. Among the eight categories, some rooms claim balconies and terraces, while top floor suites have the boon of city and Atlas Mountain views. Not refurbished for some years but so immaculately well maintained that this hotel is perfect for those looking for truly nostalgic luxury. A time warp with true charisma.
Those services include (deep breath): a full-service Oriental Spa doing massages and beauty treatments, a small gym, a large outdoor pool, a clay tennis court, a piano bar and the esteemed à la carte restaurant. There’s also a casino and nightclub, but these are separate to the hotel and you need not worry about noise.
Es Saadi’s excellent staff provide concierge services and on-site parking is complimentary. This is an ideal choice for those wishing to enjoy the gardens, pool and space of an ‘out of town’ boutique hotel but who prefer to be centrally located for easy access and visiting of this exciting city (minutes walk from the main square ‘Jma el Fna’ and the souks).
