Kenzi Azghor

South & Sahara desert hotels, Ouarzazate & Skoura

A boutique kasbah-style hotel  looking onto the Valley of the Roses, with 110 rooms.

ABOUT: While it faces the beautiful Valley of the Roses, this carmine-coloured, Kasbah-style hotel is also conveniently located near Ouarzazate’s centre and souks.  Inside, Berber-style weaves, tiled floors and even tribal music meet chic modernity in the form of wrought-iron chandeliers and an infinity pool.  With a restaurant, bar and spa, Kenzi Azghor offers doses of chic and facilities not found elsewhere in the ‘Gateway to the South’.

ROOMS: The 100 rooms range from standard single and doubles, featuring king-size beds, up to Junior Suites, which boast separate living areas and extra space.  All are light and bright in decor, and all offer en-suite bathrooms with a tub, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi.

FACILITIES:Including the option of outdoor dining on the hotel’s scenic terrace – where views extend towards Atlas Mountain peaks – El Guedra restaurant serves both Moroccan and international cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients.  Before dinner, try an aromatic Oriental solution in the spa’s bath, Jacuzzi, steam room or treatment rooms, with experienced professionals on hand; after it, make for the demure Fint Bar, where gentle music and cocktails ease guests towards bedtime.

EXTRA INFO:Ouarzazate is sometimes known as ‘Ozzywood’ thanks to its film studios’ long-standing popularity with big-budget American film crews.  Tours of the studios can be organised by the hotel’s staff, as can trips to the souks, the Valley of the Roses or other sights around this historic desert outpost.

The Lawrence of Morocco map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.

Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
