La Sultana (Marrakech)

Riads in Marrakech, Marrakech

A wonderful riad that runs like clockwork.

ABOUT:  Marrakech’s only five-star-deluxe establishment, La Sultana blends modern cons with a showstopping location inside the historic Kasbah, next to the Royal Palaces and – from its 360° roof terrace – above the Saadian Tombs.  The unique hubbub of Jemaa-el-Fna square is also only ten minutes away, but you sure wouldn’t know it: hanging gardens, tiled fountains, shady nooks, a large outdoor swimming pool and open-air massages combine to create an atmosphere so languorous that you’ll have trouble keeping... your eyes... open...

ROOMS: The 28 multi-room suites fuse North African chic – handcrafted artworks, unusual antiques, dramatically-carved archways – with indulgent, Roman temple-style marble bathrooms.  King-size beds, living rooms and fireplaces complete the opulent feel, while air-conditioning is available after sweaty excursions around town.

FACILITIES: La Sultana boasts a genuine destination spa: among its many offerings are customised treatments, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, a fitness centre and a Jacuzzi.  French/Moroccan fusion dinners are typically served by candlelight on a terrace beside the main pool, or, for those seeking intimacy, in small, secluded rooms off the main courtyards

MORE INFO: La Sultana is famed for its service: positively desperate to go the extra mile for you, its staff rank among the city’s finest attendants.  Other good news includes complimentary Wi-Fi in all public areas, and an elegant bar for pre or post-dinner cocktails.

The Lawrence of Morocco map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.

Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.

La Sultana (Marrakech) Reviews

La Sultana was fantastic..

The La Sultana was fantastic in every aspect, and especially the staff.

Exquisite!

La Sultana was exquisite and it was a privilege to stay there.  We loved every minute and although the medina was crazy in many ways and so busy in the evenings it was lovely to come back to the calm of the Riad.  Actually the only negative comment I have was our inability to barter....we definitely need to brush up on our bartering skills!!
