Selman is a new super luxurious hotel experience in the countryside near Marrakech (only 5 minutes from the city).
ABOUT: The only issue at this super-luxury hotel, set just south of Marrakech, surrounds whether horses or humans have things better. The stallions enjoy state-of-the-art stables by famed French architect Jacques Garcia—art nouveau meeting Moroccan heritage—but we lucky homo sapiens benefit from Garcia-designed bedrooms, Morocco’s longest swimming pool, a sprawling Henri Chenot spa, 15-acre gardens, sexy black-lacquer stylings and limitless serenity. There’s no contest, really.
ROOMS: With plasma-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and iPod docks, the 56 rooms and suites might sound tech-heavy: but zellige-tiled bathrooms and leather furniture add glamour and refinement. Superior Rooms come with private terraces; five separate riads boast a garden, personal butler and private pool.
FACILITIES: Talking of swimming, the record-breaking 75m-long infinity pool—more like a catwalk, with its symmetrical flanks of palm trees and sunbeds—is supported by three more pools in the spa, plus a Jacuzzi for good measure. Hydrotherapy, scrubs, rubs, gym sessions and Turkish baths can be followed by dinner in the Selman Restaurant: a banquet hall of chandeliers and padded banquettes where the menu pairs pastilla and tagine with lobsters and fillet steaks. Lighter Mediterranean fare is offered in The Pavilion Restaurant, and the Selman Bar’s a dark-walled cocktail den.
EXTRA INFO:The dozen purebred Arabian horses are only for admiring: catch the lunchtime pony show or tour the scarlet-hued stables. To actually do some cantering, ask Selman staff to book you in at the nearby riding school.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
