Sofitel Royal Bay

Coastal hotels & riads in Morocco, Agadir & Southern Coast

Luxury on Agadir's wide and white sandy beach.

ABOUT

A five-star residence on Agadir Bay, just along the promenade from the city’s palace and medina (old town), and lining a sandy, golden beach.  The calming style sees Berber architecture – hand-crafted cedarwood doors, archways and fountains – and a riad-like shape enhanced by French lighting, citrus scents and facilities befitting a resort hotel. Next door is another Sofitel, the Thalassa Sea & Spa, and, beyond that, golf courses and surfer towns.

ROOMS

Comfortable and luxurious, there are 273 rooms, including 18 suites, one royal suite and six garden villas (sometimes called bungalows), which come with private pools.  All bedrooms have mahogany beds, air-conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi.

FACILITIES

Guests have a range of restaurants and bars to choose from:-
La Caravane takes you round the world with Moroccan, French, Italian and Chinese cuisine;
L'Arganier offers outside meals by the pool or on the private beach;
La Nasse features influences of Morocco;
Le So Good serves French dishes in a refined environment;
And for a day time coffee break pick  Le Riad.

Afterwards, the Lounge Bar offers cocktails and live music, So Zen matches wine with a chilled-out vibe, and So Fun is a strobe-lit nightclub.

By day, an impressive spa centre competes for attention with a pool terrace accompanied by hammocks and four-poster day beds. There are two tennis courts.

The Kids Villa is a fun space with lounge area, reading room, movie space and a tea room.

EXTRA INFO

The hotel’s central courtyard is a nice place to read: a tranquil place of rose bushes, tinkling water and over-sized sofas.  Other options include butler-brought drinks on the beach, golf or watersport excursions and drives up to the local kasbah (fort), from where you can watch the sun set over the city and ocean.

For those looking for a business meeting space or conference area, there are 9 meeting rooms, catering for upto 500 people.

The Lawrence of Morocco map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.

Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.

Sofitel Royal Bay Reviews

Everything was modern and luxurious...

The Sofitel in Agadir was really nice, especially the room design. Everything was modern and luxurious. However, we were a bit stuck because of not feeling well, so were stung by the high prices for meals etc at the hotel. Staying at a mainstream hotel after the other boutique hotels confirmed my preference for the boutique hotels that are sometimes more basic, but much more unique, personal and homely.
