Berber Stroll and Exploration

Excursions from Marrakech, Marrakech

This is a comfortable and enjoyable trip from Marrakech exploring a large part of the High Atlas Mountains , their valleys and canyons, including a few passes that will reward you with some stunning panoramic views.

We will share time and interact with the Berber people to learn more about their way of life.

After leaving Marrakech, we will reach the village of Tahanaout (local market on Tuesdays) and its lush green valley to start driving up towards the region of Sidi Fares across pine and juniper forests, enjoying beautiful scenery from above.

Our mountain guide will invite us to visit a local daub and wattle village perched at more than 6000 ft where we will meet a local family who will welcome us in their home for some mint tea. This is an opportunity for us to experience and learn about their family's everyday life and local customs.

From here we will join the scenic road descending from the pass where we will make a few stops for some amazing photo opportunities of these breathtaking relief's running down to the green Ourika valley.

Arriving in the authentic village of Agounsane, we will be taken to visit the centre of our charity program for the children of this area and meet with some of them. We will learn more about this program and its aims from our guide and the teacher in charge.

Enjoying the beautiful environment of this area, we will sit for a break and our picnic lunch.

After lunch, we will take some time to enjoy the countryside by taking a walk to see the local traditional pottery makers before we head back to Marrakesh.
