Walking in Toubkal National Park

Excursions from Marrakech, Marrakech

A trip from Marrakech to go walking in the Atlas Mountains.

Escorted by our mountain guide, we head south from Marrakesh  through agricultural plains to the Atlas foothills (2 hour drive). Getting to Asni, we will visit the Toubkal national park eco-museum, a great introduction to the rich diversity of the high Atlas Mountains.

Then, we start walking gradually uphill to Anfa at 14O0m. From there we can enjoy panoramic views of the Alt Mizane valley and the High Atlas peaks. Following the footpath, we will reach Tagadirt village at 130Om for a picnic lunch and we'll also share a glass of mint tea with a local family before we carry on our walk along a mule path, downhill to the main road to meet our driver who will take us back to Marrakesh.

Total of 4 hours walking, with guide and picnic lunch included. Walking boots, sun-block, sun glasses, and a cap are required.
