Full day walking excursion to a Berber village 35 km south of Essaouira
This hike is a full-day walk (4 hours walking time) along the coastline south of Essaouira to the Berber village of Sidi Mbark.It includes a visit to the waterfall beside an old Marabout (house of a Saint or wise man) at a bay formed from a sand dune and river.
The hike continues southwards on winding paths through the rolling hills, populated by shepherds with goats and sheep. The trek provides panoramic views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean to the horizon. Above the bays are stone houses where fishermen store their gear used to eke out a living from the sea.
On the return trip stop at a bay for a refreshing swim. Then, surrounded by beautiful scenery, enjoy a vegetarian picnic at the waterfall of Sidi Mbark.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
